MOSCOW COSSACK CHOIR OVERWHELMS DELHI AUDIENCE

The spectacular concert performed by the globally-acclaimed Moscow Cossack Choir overwhelmed the Delhi audience at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture RCSC) in New Delhi on January 09, 2020.

The colourful event, jointly organised with the Government of Moscow, was dedicated to the celebration of the Russian Orthodox Christmas and Old New Year.

Heralding the New Year 2020, the event will ever remain a special treat for the elite audience, comprising members of the diplomatic corps, art lovers, students, academics, Russian compatriots and media people. Dignitaries such as former Governor Mr. Shekhar Dutt, Co-Chairman of the Peoples’ Assembly of EURASIA and AICC National Secretary Major Dalbir Singh, Head of DAASAI Prof. Sankar Basu, former Education Secretary, Government of India, famous writer and novelist Ms. Achala Maulik Vice Chairman of Rus Education Air Marshal (Retd.), Pawan Kapoor, and others were present.

Mr. Fedor Rozovskiy, Director, RCSC, hosted and guided the event.

The artists, donned in colourful consumes, presented the items, consisting of songs, dance and stunts with swords, which turned out to be a fest for the eyes. The music with the support of instrumental background accompanied the performance of the artists which drew wide appreciation from the audience.

Formed in 2014, the Moscow Cossack Choir is a prize-winner of various festivals and contests both in Russia and abroad. Their shows are always like a treat of vibrant igniting energy full of traditional Cossack songs and dances as well as elements of combat and stunts with swords. The ensemble’s concert programme offers a unique opportunity for the audience to get acquainted with the world of Cossacks traditions expressed in their songs, culture and ways of living. thus allowing the audience to profoundly explore the multi-faceted and vast history and traditions of Russia.

After their performance, the artists were felicitated with flowers by Air Marshal (Retd.) Pawan Kapoor and Mr. Fedor Rozovskiy
