The International Project "Russia - Love Without Borders" was launched at a function dedicated to the International Women's Day at the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) in New Delhi on March 9.
In the colorfully decorated exhibition hall of the RCSC, Russian compatriots living in New Delhi, ladies-diplomats of the Russian Embassy in India and teachers of the Institute of the Russian Language of the RCSC were present. Ten compatriots were awarded Honorary Diplomas, memorable souvenirs and bouquets of flowers for their active work to consolidate the Russian diaspora in India and for organizing cultural events.
The highlight of the cultural programme of the evening was the display of traditional Indian women's outfits (sari, salwar-kameez, lehenga-choli, etc.), demonstrated by the compatriots, representatives of the Russian Embassy and the RCSC, who captivated the attention of all those present with their extravagance, sophistication and originality. The guests of the programme, in particular, appreciated the creativity of the Chairman of the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots, Elena Barman, whose sari was designed in the colors of the Russian tricolor.
The image of the woman and the spring floral theme were also reflected in the photo exhibition "Women of Russia", displayed in the RCSC. The whole idea was to represent Russia, through the woman’s image, to the world at large and the Russian people for whom love, peace, kindness and humanity are of key values.
After the solemn section of the event, the participants continued to communicate in an informal atmosphere during the reception organized by the RCSC on the occasion of the International Women's Day.
