A group of children from the German School in New Delhi paid a visit to the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC in the framework of the programme “Window to Russia” on January 31, 2017.
The guests comprising more than twenty school children and their teachers were welcomed by the leading staff of the RCSC, particularly Ms. Tatiana Shipilova, Ms. Yulia Andreeva, Ms. Elena Barman and Ms. Yulia Simaeva, the Heads of the Institute of Russian Language, the Library of the RCSC, the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots, and the School of Russian Classical Ballet of the RCSC, respectively. The guests availed of the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the national traditions, customs and culture of Russia.
They visited the School of Russian Classical Ballet of the RCSC, which provides training to children in the age group 5-15 with ardent interest in choreography, serious and honest attitude to study ballet, and who obtained admission without any rigorous selection. The professional teacher-choreographer Ms. Julia Simaeva held a master-class for the children and showed them the costumes related to ballet. The guest took keen interest and observed the dance moves of the teacher in rapt attention.
Young visitors and their teachers watched the Photo Exhibition “Diversity of Russian Nature”, dedicated to the Year of Ecology in Russia – 2017, as well as participated in the talk on “Winter Season in Russia”, witnessed the Russian boots and shawls. The German teachers could not resist the temptation for trying Russian traditional tunics and costumes. The guests also visited the Roerich Museum and the Library of the RCSC and enjoyed the Russian cartoon “Masha and the Bear”.
