The photo exhibition titled “Russian-Indian relations: Glorious historic traditions and vision for future” was inaugurated at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in New Delhi to mark the Day of Russian diplomats. The event was organized by the Representation of Rossotrudnichestvo in India.
The exposition included 32 historic photographs, which showcase the main milestones in the development of relations between our countries from the visit of the first Soviet Ambassador to India Kirill Vasilyevich Novikov in 1947, to recent meetings between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As part of the celebration of the Day of the Russian diplomats, the exhibition was shown to students of the school at the Embassy of Russia in India. The coordinator of events of the RCSC Vasily Shagap conducted a tour of the exhibition, spoke about the establishment of relations between our countries, the history of their development to the status of “strategic partnership” and “special and privileged strategic partnership”, significant meetings of top officials of our states, signing of important agreements, as well as the features and mechanisms of cooperation between Russia and India today.
In the framework of the event, the students were also introduced to the exhibition, dedicated to the memory of the late Alexander Kadakin, former ambassador of the Russian Federation to India, recipient of the Padma Bhushan award.
