A brilliant and informative Exhibition of Photographs titled “Stars of Russian Literature”, as part of the 10th edition of the Festival of Russian Language and Literature, started at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) in Trivandrum on December 11, 2019.
The exhibition organised at the Roerich Art Gallery of the Centre showcased more than 50 photographs of famous Russian writers. Ms Tatyana Perova, Head of the Russian Language Teachers’ Training Centre, RCSC, New Delhi, inaugurated the Photo Exhibition.
In her address, Ms Tatyana Perova lauded the significant role played by the annual Festival of Russian Language and Literature in popularising and promoting Russian language and literature in India.
Ms Tatyana Perova said: “This festival in 2019 marks its jubilee. For the last ten years, the lovers of Russian language and literature have been availing of the opportunity to get updated on contemporary Russian literature. The festival attracts more and more people to learn the Russian language”.
Throwing light on the details of the festival, Mr Ratheesh C. Nair, Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation and Director of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Trivandrum, said that programmes such as seminars, talks, competition for school students, presentation of Sergei Yesenin Award to Marathi writer Dr Megha Pansuara for her contribution to popularising Russian language and literature, etc., will be part of the festival.
Artist Mr S. Radhakrishnan drew caricatures of Russian writers. Writer and critic Mr Pradeep Panangad also addressed the gathering. The inaugural ceremony was attended by people from all walks of life in the city.
