Indian Students Acquaint Themselves with Peculiarities of Russian National Cuisine

The Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) in New Delhi hosted an unusual event—a lecture on the theme: “Peculiarities of National Russian Cuisine” for the students of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University, Institute of Russian Language, as well as ordinary residents of the Indian Capital interested in Russian culture organised under the aegis of “Samovar Club” on December 3, 2016.

A multi-media presentation by the teacher of Russian language Ms. Anju Mehta enabled the participants to learn a lot about the rich traditions of Russian hospitality and the recipes of old Russian dishes, as also how to lay the table in Russia.

“We are grateful to the RCSC for providing us with the opportunity to get acquainted with the Russian cuisine and Russian culture in general” said the participants sharing their impression, and added “Today, we have learned a lot of new recipes of Russian cuisine. Now, we will be able to introduce the Russian kitchen to our friends and loved ones by preparing them something unusual to eat”.

With this event, the Russian gastronomic project took off in India, the implementation of which will continue not only in 2017, but also in the following years.
