Indian students, who were selected as part of the Russian Government’s Scholarship Programme to pursue Higher Studies in the Russian Federation for the academic year 2019-2020, along with their parents, received briefing from Mr. Vasilii Shagap, Chief Coordinator (Culture & Information), Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) in New Delhi on July 7, 2019.
Present along with him were Ms. Tatiana Perova, Head of the Training Centre for Russian Teachers, RCSC, and Ms. Elena Barman, Head of the Department of Higher Studies of the RusEducation.
Mr. Vasilii Shagap described in minute detail the formal procedure to follow in obtaining a visa, documents to be submitted, residence, travel & communication facilities, etc., once the students reach their destination.
He also made an effective presentation for the benefit of students and their parents so as to instil confidence in them and making them comfortable while becoming part of the scholarship programme. He laid stress on the well-reputed unique standard and merit of Russian degrees.
Ms. Tatiana Perova narrated the educational and residence facilities available in Russian universities, as also the scope and prospects of studies there, job opportunities for holders of the Russian degrees and the structure and duration of the preparatory courses offered by the Russian universities.
Ms. Elena Barman shared a lot of useful information with the audience given her vast experience in the field of sending Indian students for higher studies in Russia.
To supplement the briefing, a couple of documentaries, which included impressions shared by Indian students presently undergoing studies in different Russian universities. A question & answer session followed, which took place to the great satisfaction of the students, as the RCSC personnel responded to each and every query fulfilling their requirements.
