The students of the School of Russian Classical Ballet of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) in New Delhi presented a brilliant spectacle at their annual concert under the efficient guidance of Galina Vishnyakova, professional choreographer and former soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow, on April 24, 2019. The skill and perseverance of children in the age-group of 5-17, coupled with the dedication and expertise of the distinguished teacher, were found all-pervading throughout the performance.
A large gathering comprising the parents of students, foreign diplomats, art enthusiasts, art critics, media persons, Russian compatriots and others who attended the event enjoyed the thrill and excitement on the vibrant performance of budding artists attired in colourful costumes accompanied by lively music and rhythm.
As Mr Fedor Rozovskiy, Director of the RCSC, rightly noted, while facilitating the young artists and their teacher, it was an unprecedented two and a half hour long performance of over 36 items ever made in the history of the RCSC.
The dignitaries of the occasion such as Mr Kiran Rijiju, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India, and H.E. Mr Bulat Sarsenbayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to India, made their gracious presence felt in their capacity as parents of children who participated in the concert.
Most popular ballet dance items of outstanding Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky and eminent Russian-French ballet dancer and choreographer Marius Petipa found eloquent expression through the performance of promising children. The audience gave standing ovation and encouraging applause to the presentation of variation from ballets such as “Swan Lake”, “Don Quixote”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “Konyok-Gorbunok”, “The Nutcracker”, “The Wayward Daughter”, ”The Pharaoh’s Daughter”, “The Fairy Doll”, “and others.
This evening will remain a glittering experience for the Delhi audience forever.
