A competition for young compatriots for participation in an educational tour across Russia "Hello, Russia 2018!" took place at in the Russian Сenter of Ыcience and Сulture in New Delhi on April 1, 2018
Since 2014, the Rossotrudnichestvo, together with the Indian Association of the Russian Compatriots (IARC), annually sends children of compatriots – winners of the various competitions, organized by Representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in India to examine their knowledge of history and the culture of Russia to short-term educational tours in historical places of the Russian Federation. This work is conducted by Rossotrudnichestvo for the purpose of imbibing in the younger generation of compatriots the positive attitude towards Russia, interest in it’s rich culture and national traditions.
Within the competition, the candidates, in the age-group 14-19, permanently living in India and knowing Russian language, have prepared presentations on the subject "Culture of Russia", among which there were works on Matrechka doll’s history, the Vologda lace, etc., and also essays on the subject "Russia in My Heart". Children have shared their thoughts about Russia and desire again to feel their involvement in the rich history of the country.
The Jury was comprised Chairman of IARS Elena Barman, the teacher of Institute of Russian in New Delhi Irina Utkina, and employees of the RCSC in New Delhi.
The candidates living in other cities of India also have opportunity to send their works in electronic form and will be considered by the Commission.
