POLLING FOR RUSSIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION AT THE RCSC IN TRIVANDRUM

With the conduction of polling, taking place at the Honorary Consulate of the Russian Federation in Trivandrum on March 10. 2018, the Russian nationals staying in Kerala and the tourists from Russia had an opportunity to cast their votes to the upcoming Russian Presidential election to be held in Russia on March 18, 2018.

In fact, at the polling booth No. 8102 in Trivandrum, 22 Russian citizens did cast their votes. By casting their votes, basically, Russians staying in Varkala and Kovalam could take part in the process. Those Russians, who got married to Keralites, also came to the Honorary Consulate to cast their votes to elect their President.

Ms. Viktoria, who is married to Mf. Ajt Kumar, a native of Trivandrum, and settled in Trivandrum, said: “It is a golden chance for Russians who live in Kerala. In Russia, I never missed my chance to vote  in the election of President and Parliament. After my marriage, this is the second time I could take part in the election held here”.

 Ms. Maria, who got married to Mr. Rino Binu, a native of Pravachambalam, said: “I voted for the first time outside Russia. I could also play a minor role in moulding the future of Russia by participating in the Presidential election held outside my country.”

Mr. Dmitry Ananyaev, Consul, Ms Yulya Glabukina, Attache, and Mr. Ratheesh  C. Nair, Honorary Consul of Russian Federation in Trivandrum, led and guided the election process.

Mr. Ratheesh C. Nair said: “The ballots, which were received from the Central Election Commission of Russia, will be sent back to Moscow through diplomatic channel from Chennai. The same will be counted after the polling in Russia”.

Polling for Russian Presidential was  highlighted in the newspapers  «Malayala Manorama» , «Mathrubhumi», «Кerala Кaumudi», «Times of India», «The Indian Express», «Decan Chronicle», «The Hindu», «Deepika», «Madhyamam», «Mangalam», «Chandrika», «Dinakaran»(tamil) and TV channels  «Asianet news», «Manorama news», «Mathrubhumi news», «ACV», «Jeevan tv», «Amritha, , «Media one», «Jai hind tv»  and  «Janam tv».
