Mr. Cherian Philip further said: “The USSR was a major power during the Cold War period, and a leader of the group of nations that stood against America. But, after the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the world focussed on a unipolar world, Thanks to the present strong leadership in Russia and its strong policies, the country has come back to the mainstream to lead the world towards a multi-polar world. Russia is a world leader in combating terrorism, and that is evident in countries like Syria. Russia always stood by India. Even though both the counties have new friends, Indo-Russian relations remained unchanged”.
Mr. Jacob George, Senior Journalist (India Today), in his key-note address said that the present Russian leadership is aware of the importance of patriotism and hence is giving priority in celebrating the Day of Unity and National Day.
