The function comprised the inauguration of the Exhibition dedicated to the Centenary of the Great October Revolution and an inter-active programme with Indian youth and discussion on “The Lessons of History”. There was also the screening of the documentary films on the Revolution and on V.I. Lenin.
The function was attended by students of various higher educational institutions, including the students of the Institute of Russian Language of the RCSC, teachers, Russian compatriots and others.
The Exhibition depicting different facets of the Revolution was jointly inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp by Mrs. Purnima Anand, Founder-President of BRICS International Forum and President of the International Federation of Indo-Russian Youth Clubs, Mr. Vimal Mehta, President of the Forum of Indian Photographers and Artists, Mrs. Tatiana Shipilova, Director, Institute of Russian Language of the RCSC, Mr. Arseny Starkov and Ms. Ludmila Filippova, Consultants, Information & Culture, RCSC.
The Great October Socialist Revolution of 1917 is an epoch-making, landmark event of the XX century in world history, which left a profound impact on socio, economic and political spheres. The Revolution provided enormous inspiration and gave a fillip to the Liberation Movement in different countries across the world.
