More than 35 paintings, both realistic and abstract, reflected the beauty, culture and tradition of both Russia and India, as well as the national integration of ancient and modern India.
Inaugurating the Exhibition, the Chief Guest, Mr Loknath Behera, Director General of Police, Kerala State, who himself is an artist, hailed the role of arts in strengthening national integration and friendly relations with other countries. Citing that contribution of the Roerichs is a classic example for this, he added that preservation of paintings is also equally important. Mr Loknath Behera also pointed out that the paintings of both Nicolai Roerich and Svyatoslav Roerich are kept at the Chitra Art Gallery in Trivandrum.
Artist Eby N. Joseph and Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation and Director of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Trivandrum Mr Ratheesh C. Nair were present on the occasion.
Dr. T. M. Thomas Isaac, Finance Minister, Kerala State, who visited the RCSC in Trivandrum and watched the Exhibition on August 25, 2017, highly appreciated the artistic work, its concept and theme.
Thirty per cent of the profit from the sale will be utilized for the treatment of cancer patients.
