Concert Hall of the RCSC Named after Ambassador Kadakin

The Concert Hall of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) in New Delhi was named after the late Ambassador Alexander M. Kadakin, outstanding Russian Diplomat, at a solemn ceremony on April 26, 2017. The Plaque, on which his name has been engraved, was unveiled by Prof. Lokesh Chandra, President of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, in the presence of an elite gathering.

This ceremony was followed by a colourful and brilliant concert by the Dance Ensemble “Rainbow” from Nizhny Novgorod, jointly organised by the RCSC, Embassy of the Russian Federation in India and the Continental Cultures Assembly “Dostoyanie”, to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Russia and India.

The occasion witnessed the launch of the International Public Campaign “St. George Ribbons” in India symbolising the monumental tribute to victims of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) as well as the bravery, sacrifice and sufferings of the people.

Prior to the Concert, Mr. Fedor A. Rozovskiy, Director, RCSC, distributed Certificates, Russian books and Souvenirs to the winners of “Total Dictation” in the framework of the International Project aimed at promoting Russian language.

An Exhibition of Children’s Art Works from Russia “From Rhythms of Time to Treasures of Space: In Love with India” was displayed in the premises side by side with the programme.

The dancers clad in fantastic costumes presented a spectacular performance which included over Russian and Moldavian folk dances. The concert was led and guided by the Art Director of the Ensemble Nadezhda Perevozkina, the Musical Director Peter Perevozkin and the Head of “Dostoyanie” Natalia Pivovarova.

A large gathering comprising members of diplomatic missions, Russian compatriots, educationists, artists, and media people attended the function. Mr. Anatoly Kargapolov, Charge d’ Affaires of the Russian Federation in India, Mr. Ashok Sajjanhar, President, Institute of Global Studies and Former Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Sweden and Latvia, Dr. Michael M. Mgeladze, Former Ambassador of Russia to Myanmar, and Mr. Sergey Karmalito, Senior Counsellor, Embassy of the Russian Federation in India., and others graced the occasion.
