Glorious Painting Exhibition “From Russia with Love” at the RCSC in New Delhi

A glorious paintings exhibition “From Russia with Love” by the Artist from St. Petersburg Pavel Eskov was opened at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) in New Delhi to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and India on April 21, 2017. The project was conducted jointly with the Art Gallery “Molbert” and Centre of Humanitarian Programmes from St. Petersburg.

Inaugurating the painting exhibition, the Chief Guest Ms. Tripat K. Kalra, Founder Director, Gallerie Nvya, described the splendid display of artistic genius as unique for having a mass appeal for bilateral cultural comprehension between the peoples of two countries.

Senior Counsellor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in India Mr. Sergey V. Karmalito pointed out that the painting exhibition is symbolic of the on-going series of cultural events dedicated to the historic 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and India.

Earlier, welcoming the gathering, Mr. Fedor A. Rozovskiy, Director, RCSC, noted that the exhibition provides us with an exceptional opportunity to enjoy the unique artistic works of Pavel Eskov.

Ms. Surjit Akre, President, Roerichs’ Museum and Art Club, RCSC, lauded the exhibition as a novel step in promoting bilateral cultural links.

Ms. Elena Mochalina, Director of the Art Gallery “Molbert”, St. Petersburg, and Ms. Sofia Verba, Art Critic, who were highly impressed with the response from the Indian audience, thanked the organisers for the excellent conduct of the event. They read out a message from the Artist Pavel Eskov, which read as follows: “I am happy that my art works help to create the cultural bridge between our two great countries – Russia and India. I hope that my paintings with their simple and sincere topics will help you to understand Russian soul – very joyful and open to friendship”.

Mr. Pavel Eskov, an artist from St. Petersburg, has participated in more than 100 Russian and international exhibitions, including 20 and more personal ones. This exhibition showcases a collection of his works, created during the period 2010-2017. His creativity is inspired by sincere love for Russian nature, in everyday life in his Motherland, and in his own city. Pure colour, bright and vibrant features attract the spectators with joyful mood. Looking at the well-lighted canvases, one wants to enjoy the acerbic taste of life, wants to visit places depicted by the artist and imbibe the radiance of those lively days.
